Opal and Jason were discussing their first computers. "Mine was grey," said Jason. "Mine is green," said Opal, "and it came with games already on it! I didn't even have to go get them!" "What kind of games?" "Well, there's this one with numbers? And you put the numbers in? And then you press the equal sign and it tells you the answer!" That would of course be the calculator. I suggested that one of its joys was the fact that it will do really big numbers. "No it doesn't. The numbers on the buttons are big, but the numbers it shows are little." "I meant that you could make it show really long numbers. That's what people mean when they say numbers are big." "Well, that's just wrong. If the number is short, it's pretty big, but the longer it gets, the smaller the numbers are, so they'll fit."
