Botanically As Accurate As Ever

Among the plants in the garden were some flourishing objects that looked a great deal like agapanthus. But they failed to bloom in the spring, tra la, and in fact the leaves all died off in late spring. That was a puzzle, but we cleared away the dead leaves and moved on. Perhaps next year they would be happier. And then, about two weeks ago, flower shoots appeared. Looking much like agapanthus stalks. Agapanthus are still blooming! It's late, but believable!

Although, you know, all those blooming agapanthus? Every plant of them has leaves. You'd think that would have tipped me off. But no, it wasn't until I came out this afternoon (to water the lemon balm, still not dead, actually perking up a bit) and discovered the buds opening into what are clearly going to be dramatic pink flowers that I came to the obvious conclusion. Naked ladies!
