Eight Eyes
Dec 7, 2009
It was cold and rainy today, which I suppose is bad news, but it has some advantages. In particular, Opal does not mind wearing her raincoat, and she loves wearing her rainboots. So on rainy days we do not have a coat argument. We do have some species issues; Opal's raincoat is a cheetah, and her boots are rabbits.
When I picked her up, I asked her if she wasn't afraid she'd eat her feet for a snack. "Naw! Those rabbits are my friends! They help me!" We ran into another parent, who remarked that she was three animals. "Four! I'm another one inside!" I originally thought she was counting her original self, but actually she meant there was another rabbit on her shirt. "Eight eyes!" said the other parent. "Like a spider!" said Opal "We're all animals, you know. Even the sidewalk." "The sidewalk is an animal?" "It looks like it sits still, but at night, when we're asleep, it turns into cheetahs and jaguars and runs around chasing things."
