Kosher Bacon
Jul 20, 2009
We went to The Kitchen Table in Mountain View for dinner; they're dairy-free kosher, and make a very fine hamburger (obviously, no cheeseburger), and also a BLT, with lamb bacon. The lamb bacon got good reviews (smoky, not so fatty as pork bacon). We enjoyed the food, although the service was a bit rocky (I think they're reasonably new and may be still getting their act together).
I enjoyed deeply watching Opal's friend A talk to his mother about how to spell "where". "Wh" went smoothly, and then he wanted an "o". No, that's "who". He actually got the "e" (which is pretty remarkable, since it really should be "a" by the sound), and then he wanted an "o". No, there's no "o" there. But where does the "o" go then? Do you hear an "o" in "where"? No, so how can I figure out where it goes? There is no "o" in "where". He was determined to put that "o" into where, and both sides got quite frustrated for a while there.
Read to Opal today: We finished The Magic of Oz, and I read Sarah's Unicorn.
