Out of Dogs
Dec 5, 2010
We meant to go the library this morning, but failed, because the library doesn't open until 1. But we hung out in its vicinity for a while, because there is a park, and where there is a park, there are dogs. Mostly, it was raining and the dog owners wanted to go home, but Opal got to cuddle a toy poodle for quite a while. She reckons her dog score was 6, pretty good for a Sunday. Saturdays are better; Palo Alto is a dog treasure-trove -- even Stanford Shopping Center yielded up a Great Dane puppy last time we were there, although the all-time best puppy score in Palo Alto was a very young Bernese mountain dog, a giant ball of enthusiastic fluff. Mountain View does often involve a bull mastiff and sometimes a full-grown Bernese mountain dog, pulling a cart. It likes carrots.
When she ran out of dogs, Opal started working on building something out of deadfall. Here she is, nonchalantly gathering building materials.
