Long ago and far away, Steve Simmons and I gave an invited talk at LISA about rules of thumb for system administration. In 75 minutes we went through 80 overheads (I told you it was long ago and far away). It was big fun, and several people asked us how long we had rehearsed. We hadn't rehearsed, but we had pruned it down from some 150 candidate overheads. We've done it again once since (in Powerpoint -- honestly, with no multiple master function in Powerpoint it was a lot harder than the overheads had been, although at least we didn't have to grovel on the floor afterwards to pick up spilled pieces of paper and overheads).
